The Best of Hollywood?

Recently the movie "Brokeback Mountain" received eight Oscar nominations including one for best picture. I have never seen this movie, and I never intend to. Why do you ask? Brokeback Mountain is a drama about the struggles of two gay cowboys. Does it surprise me that Hollywood would produce such dribble? Not really, what else would we expect from them? I do think that it is a sad commentary on the times in which we live. One can not help but be reminded of the problems that existed during the life of the prophet Isaiah. He said, "Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil;..." (Isaiah 5:20) Hollywood has produced a movie, while certainly not the first, that is seeking to promote the sin of homosexuality as that which is good. Folks, homosexuality is not good it is fornication (cf. Rom. 1:26ff; I Cor. 6:9-11; Jude 7; Gen. 13:13, 19:1-5; Lev. 18:22). God's word clearly condemns homosexuality to deny this is to simply deny the word of God. We live in sad times when one of the "best" movies Hollywood has to offer is the story of two gay cowboys. This is just another movie that glorifies immorality for years sexual immorality, foul language, thievery, and other immoral acts have been sanctioned on the silver screen and TV. This is certainly not the kind of material the Christian should be seeking out as entertainment. If we continue to feed our minds on these types of movies it will certainly have a negative affect on the way we think. Obviously this is an effort to make people accept the sin of homosexuality as being ok. Remember Christians are not to think like the world, "be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Rom. 12:2) How can our thinking be different if we fill it with the same garbage that the world is consuming. Let's fill our minds with the truth of God's word by faithfully studying the inspired scriptures each and every day.
